Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. announced that a John Deere tractor owned by Elvis has been fully restored and was placed on public display, beginning May 8th, 2009. The tractor will be displayed at the Elvis Presley Auto Museum, which is located at Graceland.
According to the press release, The John Deere 4010 tractor was often used by Elvis on his Mississippi ranch, and then was used to maintain the grounds at Graceland after the sale of the ranch for many years. The tractor was just recently replaced with a John Deere 5325 with a 542 loader.
The restoration was completed by students at Northwest Mississippi Community College, with assistance and guidance from John Deere. To celebrate and commemorate the restoration and the exhibit, a special-edition, die-cast version of the tractor will go on sale in November. The die-case replica tractor will include the 46A loader, which is rarely found on die-casts.
