At first glance you may think this is just another front cover of Fastline… but it is so much more. Read this young man’s inspiring story about battling cancer and how tractors helped him get through the struggle of chemo treatments.
The 1070 Case was purchased by Zack Jones in September 2010. Zack was 14 at the time and was battling cancer at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. Being stuck in a hospital bed was hard for this farm boy to handle so to help pass time he would look online at tractors. When he and his father, Jon came across the 1070 in an ad they called about it and purchased it that week. Zack couldn’t wait to get home after chemo treatments to go take his tractor for a drive. The tractor needed some work done so they called on Zack’s great-uncle, Tom Jones, to see if he could repair what needed fixed. A year and a half later the tractor was totally restored complete with new tires purchased by Zack’s grandparents, Jon and Pauline Jones. The last details were finished the night before the local prom just in time for Zack to drive it and his prom date, Jana Fenstamaker, through the promenade. It maybe just an old tractor with a new paint job to some but to Zack it was much more than that!!
Fastline salutes Zack and all others battling cancer. This disease is truly horrible and has touched all of us in some way. Fastline is a proud supporter of The American Cancer Society in the hopes that one day we will find a cure for cancer. Thanks so much to Zack and his family for sharing this amazing story with us.
